The Greek police have arrested 29 people at a parade of school children in central Athens, reported the press service of the police on Saturday.
Those arrested were involved in the demonstration organized by the union of Greek teachers. The demonstrators tried to break into Syntagma Square before the National Parliament building during a parade of students dedicated to Independence Day of Greece.
Now, about 4,000 police officers keep order in the Greek capital, protesters have vowed to disrupt military parades and school children across the country planned to denounce the reduction of salaries and pensions.
