Egypt: release of kidnapped Americans (TV)
On Friday the two American tourists kidnapped in southern Sinai were released, said the satellite channel Al-Jazeera, without providing details on their release.
According to the channel, the tourists were released by a group of police intervention.
American women and their guide were kidnapped on the road to St. Catherine’s Monastery in Sinai, located 250 km northwest of the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
According to information released earlier, the kidnappers had demanded as ransom for the release of two criminals arrested last Saturday in Sharm el-Sheikh.
