The Heads of State and Ministers of Defence and Foreign Affairs of fifty member countries of NATO and their partners meet for a summit in the U.S. city of Chicago on Sunday.
Libya after the overthrow of the regime of Muammar Gaddafi, the uncertain future of Afghanistan, the creation of a missile defense system in Europe, the strengthening of the Alliance and the financial crisis on the menu of two-day summit . Russia opposed to approaches otaniennes problems of Syria and Iran, and the deployment of the shield in Europe could also be discussed, according to some analysts.
The Alliance plans to continue cooperation with Moscow on missile defense, by persuading Russia that this system is not directed against the deterrent forces of this country.
Obama and representatives from some 60 countries are to discuss the war in Afghanistan and other international security issues.
