The United States doubts that the peace plan drafted by Syria Kofi Annan is achieved and plan to act ”outside” of the Security Council of the UN, said Susan Rice the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations on Wednesday.
“If the plan is torpedoed peaceful settlement, the second scenario is to apply pressurefrom the Security Council.” Rice told reporters.

The UN confirmed the withdrawal of Sudanese troops in the disputed region of Abyei,on the border with southern Sudan, said the spokesman Kieran Dwyer UN.

SEOUL, South Korea – A South Korean cargo ship sank after an explosion off the west coast, according to Seoul.
Three people died in events and eight were still missing the call on Sunday morning.
Ko Jae-young, an officer of the Coast Guard, said 11 South Korean sailors and five Burmese colleagues were on the ship of 419 tons when the explosion was heard. He had no information as to what caused the blast.
