SHANGHAI (Reuters) – On Wednesday Italy’s Federica Pellegrini won the gold medal in the 200 freestyle world championships swimming Shanghai and signed a one-two after winning the 400 meters.
Italian swimmer, who had managed the same feat in 2009 in Rome, was timed in 1’55 “58.
Australia’s Kylie Palmer took the silver medal in 1’56 “04. French Camille Muffat, who had been a bronze medal in 400 m, completed the podium in 1’56″ 10.
Federica Pellegrini said that she was “very happy” to have confirmed its success in Rome. She has again paid tribute to her coach, Philippe Lucas French, former mentor of Laure Manaudou .
“I applied the tactics of racing developed with Philippe Lucas,” she said. “I hope to continue with him next year.”
