LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – On Sunday Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham won the championship of the United States Soccer (MLS) in the final by defeating the Houston Dynamo 1-0.
The only goal of the game was scored by the captain of the Californian team, Landon Donovan, a clever lob on 72 minutes.
The Galaxy had not won the championship since 2005.
With this title, the first since he signed the U.S. five years ago, Beckham added 36 years to a new line to his name.
The former England international, who is no longer associated with Los Angeles Galaxy, will be able to consider his future. Paris Saint-Germain, a leader of the League, does not hide his interest in him.
“David Beckham, he goes beyond sport. He is an ambassador, a trademark, he is an example for other people.
“But he is also remains a very good football player, and his age is no problem.”, said the president of PSG, Qatari Nasser al Khelaifi in an interview with L’Equipe earlier this month.
